Iam very excited to be here because I believe that every child is worthfighting for. I believe that GHS North is a second chance and that we asthe staff have an opportunity to help these kids succeed in life. I maynot have went to school to become a teacher (I actually went to schoolto become a worship minister), but I am confident this is where I ammeant to be. My goal is
to make sure that every student in my classknows that no matter where they come from or what their past looks likethey                                                                                                       have the ability to succeed andbecome a contributing member of society as long as they work hard andmake good choices.

I was born in Galesburg and have spent most of my life here.  My experience growing up on a farm with all kinds of animals was wonderful.  In 1971, I met my husband, Dave, and have been married 42 years.  I have three step children, seven grandchildren, and one great grandchild.  I love them all.

My work experience was varied which included jobs at the telephone company, dental office, toy store, YMCA, and as a Special Education Paraprofessional in Galesburg for 16 years.  I have worked at Lincoln, Silas Willard, and Gale.  This is my first year at GHS North.

 MISSION AT GHS NORTH

It is my goal to help all students reach their full potential academically.  However, it is also my desire to let them know that honesty, kindness, responsibility, and being respectful to others are very important values to embrace as they graduate from GHS North.  Prior to working here, I admit to having preconceived ideas about this school but I was wrong.  It is amazing to see the effort that the staff devotes to the students to ensure that they reach their goals and dreams. As they see the staff believing in them; they in turn start to achieve more and try harder.  They might have struggles but learn to persevere to overcome those obstacles.  It is truly a joy to be a part of this process.  This is really a family that demonstrates love and support for these students.
