Hello GHS North Families,
I am pleased to share details with you regarding the full return to learn for students on Monday, February 22nd. If your student is staying remote for the remainder of third term, some of this information may not pertain to them. We are so very excited to meet the needs of both our in-person and at-home learners!
One important reminder that I would like everyone to remember about GHS North right now. Galesburg High School North is adjacent to the GHS construction zone. It is very important that students are not in unauthorized areas, as this is a safety concern.
School Day Schedule
Due to sharing transportation, GHS North will follow the GHS schedule beginning on February 22nd. That means there is no late start at GHS North. Please also check Skyward for any busing changes. Student arrival time is also an important aspect of this. Students may not enter GHS/GHS N prior to 7:25 a.m., as there is no supervision at that time. It is also important to note that we will not be serving traditional lunch during the day. Students will enjoy a sack lunch in small, socially distanced groups in our GHS N Commons. Your student’s assigned lunch period can be found on their schedule on Skyward. Students will take lunch with their 3rd block class. Breakfast for the next day will be offered on the way out of school at the end of the day.
GHS North Regular Schedule (All Students) Beginning February 22nd
Our school day is now 7:40 a.m.-2:35 p.m.

GHS North In-Person Student Procedures
If it doesn’t challenge you, it doesn’t change you.
Welcome to GHS North. Whether you are a new or returning student, we want YOU to understand our school’s procedures during these challenging times. Following these are the key to success at North!

How do we leave class? | |
If you need to leave the class for any reason, please wait for an appropriate time and ask for permission. Take the appropriately labeled pass and return promptly. Excessive time spent in the bathroom or not using a pass appropriately will result in loss of this privilege.
|
What should you do if you’re absent? | How do we end class? |
If you are absent, check Google Classroom or visit your teacher before school or during Advisory. When you enter class, you should know what you missed from the previous day! | The teacher dismisses the class when the bell rings. To dismiss, students need to be seated quietly, your work area needs to be cleaned, and any materials that you used need to be put away. |
As always, contact GHS North at 973-2003 with any questions you may have.
It’s going to be a great end of the 20-21 school year!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Ritchie--Principal Ms. Wills--School Counselor
