The Galesburg Junior High School Student Council wanted to educate their peers about the upcoming Solar Eclipse on October 14, 2023, and decided to do so through a contest that began on Monday, October 9, 2023.
The student council sponsored a Solar Eclipse Knowledge Contest that was held during 7th and 8th grade advisory classes. Each day advisory teachers were given a link to a Google form with questions about the solar and lunar eclipses. The advisory classes with the highest percentage of participation and correct answers received moon pies, sun chips, and eclipse glasses during lunch on Thursday.
