The GHS Media Writing and Broadcasting recently took a field trip to WQAD to learn more about the behind-the-scenes work at the television station.
The class has also visited the radio stations of WGIL, FM 95, the Laser, and 105.3 KFM at the Galesburg Broadcasting Company during October.
In this first year of the Media Writing and Broadcasting class, students have produced the daily Galesburg Junior Senior High School video announcements, learned the operations of the student radio station, Lightning Radio, and practiced play-by-play skills for various sports. Their final project is to produce a 60-second video story, which includes interviews and voice-over audio.
