ISAC

Each year the Illinois Student Assistance Commision  (ISAC) recognizes students who possess superior academic potential. Students from nearly every high school in Illinois compete in the program.  The combination of students' exemplary college entrance examination scores and record high school achievement indicate an especially high potential for success in college. To be named an Illinois State Scholar is an outstanding accomplishment that will be a highlight of the recipient’s academic record.

According to ISAC, the Illinois State Scholar program is awarded to high school seniors based on ACT or SAT test scores and the sixth semester* class size and unweighted class rank and Grade Point Average (GPA).

Each student designated as a State Scholar receives a congratulatory letter, a Certificate of Achievement and statewide recognition in the news media.

This year we are pleased to announce that 20 GHS seniors have been named IL State Scholars.  A hearty congratulations goes to Janice A, Haley B, Zachary C, Abigail C, Benjamin C, Natalya C, Will C, Nicholas D, Emma H, Emma K, Nora L, Minuet L, Kelton L, Dillon L, Ada M, Christopher P, Tegan R, Tyler S, David V, and Kalie W.

Over Winter Break we will share details about each of these students, including what schools they attended in district 205, what has been the greatest motivation in their lives, and their plans after graduating from GHS.

Thank you to Ben Bredemeier for taking the photos of our students and compiling the information about these impressive Silver Streaks.
