This morning, King Elementary was filled with extra smiles and excited chatter as students welcomed their very important guests to the VIP Breakfast. The event gave students the chance to invite someone special—a parent, guardian, grandparent, older sibling, or close family friend—to join them for breakfast and fun morning activities before the school day officially began.
First-grade student Liam summed up the spirit of the morning perfectly: “Today is going to be the best day ever,” he said with a grin. When asked why, he didn’t hesitate. “Because I am at school with my dad.”
Principal Valerie Hawkins shared, “Events like this remind us that learning is a community effort. It’s inspiring to see our students so proud to share their school with the people who mean the most to them.”
As the final goodbyes were exchanged and the school day began, it was clear that both students and their guests would carry the morning’s memories with them for a long time.
