Alice Greene in Japan

Hello! This is my 6th month here in Japan! So far, this year has been very enjoyable and I am starting to feel very confident in speaking Japanese.

This month I went to a Queen concert at the Nagoya Dome! Brian May and Roger Taylor were there along with Adam Lambert. I sang along, danced, and loved every second! I had so much fun and I am glad I got to see one of my favorite bands, especially in Japan. We had good seats and it was very crowded.

Another big event was the brass band concert and we spent so much time practicing. There was a 12-hour rehearsal the day before. The performance took place at a state-of-the-art venue. The lighting, sound systems, and crew were all top-of-the-line. It was my first time wearing the very cool marching uniform as well. I’m so happy to have been included in the band, but since I will be leaving in a few months, it was my last time playing with them. It was also the final show for the last year's seniors, many tears were shed (including mine!) It was a prime chapter in this exchange. Everyone was so nice and helpful to me.

The next day, I took the train to Nagoya with the other foreign exchange students. We met at Nagoya station's famous meeting place, the golden clock. I’m happy I got to learn more about the new Australian foreign exchange students and give them advice! We went to the planetarium to see a very mesmerizing show. Then we went to a restaurant and I had some shrimp and a delicious chocolate and strawberry parfait. After that we went shopping.

Overall, I’ve been very happy! The date I will be returning, coincidentally, is the 4th of July.

Thank you for following my journey!
